Snap shot of JoJo’s Career
When it comes to her career, JoJo says, “It just happened naturally, one thing led to an other.”
When JoJo came back from studying in India as a young adult, she had very successful art exhibitions, which brought her to her first television appearance as a promising young artist on the famous CTV Don Mc Gowen Show.
At that time she planned to go to New York to open a psychic shop and promote her art, but the universe had other plans for her! One magical day, while visiting a friend in Vancouver, BC she went to a party where she read the hand of a television producer with such accuracy that he offered her to be part of his show Tomorrow’s Fortune. JoJo immediately attracted a large fan-base and was a natural!
Shortly after this success, JoJo received a phone call from a CTV producer to audition for an astrology position on a famous talk show High Noon. Nailing the audition, JoJo was hired on the spot and quickly became a local star.
French stations TVA and TQS also rushed to hire her as their house astrologer, also making her a regular guest, host, and co-host of many of their best talk shows in Quebec. In a short time, the CTV executive producer offered JoJo her own daily horoscope show, leading to more appearances as star astrologer on French networks throughout Canada.
JoJo also spent time hosting her own radio shows and writing for national best-selling monthly and yearly astrology books, including a house spot with TV Guide. After decades of boosting network ratings as a household television personality throughout French and English Canada, she continues to be a regular guest star on many national shows, giving horoscopes, predictions, hand readings, natal charts, and body language readings of celebrities.
In 1990, JoJo showed her innovative side, launching a successful personalized astrology line, giving daily predictions and love compatibilities based on peoples unique natal chart. The tremendous success of that venture allowed JoJo to team up with a Miami-based company Ormazd in 1993, then becoming “Queen of Late Night” leading psychic throughout Canada and the East Coast of the United States.
In 1995 JoJo was the first and only star astrologer to make the front page of the prestigious MacLean’s magazine, followed by another psychic service contract with California-based direct-response television company Guthy Renker. In 1999, JoJo signed a two-year contract with a Canadian Internet Company DotCom2000 to provide video horoscope for AOL in the US and other Internet providers in Canada.
At the end of 1999, JoJo and her family moved to the States while still continuing her infomercial business and her CTV horoscope show. In 2000, Florida-based Company ARS offered JoJo the lead psychic host on their television network, replacing the famous psychic “Cleo”, but JoJo declined the lucrative offer, listening to her psychic intuition to not take the position. Six months later, the government changed the laws regarding 900-number services and all psychic services moved to the internet.
After taking a bit of a break from media and traveling the world, JoJo signed a three year contract in 2003 with US-based-company GoTV as a producer/host, being the first astrologer to do video horoscope shows for cellular carriers in the US. In 2006, JoJo teamed up with a California-based-company Cellflicks and started a joint venture to produce her own video horoscopes shows for cellular carriers for the US, Canadian and European markets.
JoJo is presently working on a new painting series, doing public speaking engagements and working on exciting new show business projects, which she intends to launch in the near future.
